Full metal (Aluminium) Monocoque Body
With support from a full metal MONOCOQUE (MQ) body concept, 23 SALTIGA 4000/5000/6000 has gained extra strength and retrieve power compared to other models in similar sizes.
By introducing MONOCOQUE (MQ) construction the internal body space has been increased to allow larger drive gear to be installed. MQ construction also allows the engine plate to replace the need for screws to stabilise the drive gear. MQ concept improves support of the internal parts and adds durability and resistance to intrusion..
Large diameter G1 duralumin MC (Machine Cut) Tough Digital Gear
New gear design combined with G1 Duralumin material creates the pinnacle of gear strength and precision. With increased strength of up to 130% to support the reel under the harshest conditions.
This gear design reduces the amount of wear, including twist and deformation to both the drive & pinion gears. This gear design combined with MQ body creates the pinnacle of saltwater spinning reels.
AIRDRIVE ROTOR (Aluminium)
AIRDRIVE ROTOR gives control back to the angler, allowing the reel to perform exactly as intended by lowering the inertia required to both start & stop winding rotation. By showcasing an easy winding sensation, AIRDRIVE ROTOR allows the angler to react quickly and instantly to bites, especially on slack line.
By reducing the weight of the rotor and re-shaping the design, the rotation of the reel has been improved. Lower inertia gives better control with reduced effort required by the angler.
AIRDRIVE BAIL
To enhance its position for power & strength, 6000 size Saltiga is equipped with Φ3.0mm tubular AIRDRIVE BAIL. To support the reduced weight of the rotor and maintain the sensitivity, 4000 & 5000 Saltiga is equipped with Φ2.4mm bail. Carefully crafted for each size, a reduced wire diameter is realised whilst maintaining the strength anglers are used to with DAIWA’s AIR BAIL.
DAIWA has also re-engineered bail trip mechanism with aim to provide a precision open & close movement to give enhanced feeling to angler while in use.
AIRDRIVE SHAFT
AIRDRIVE SHAFT has a non-contact structure between the mainshaft and the pinion gear.
In addition to this, both ends of pinion gear are now supported with bearings to transmit the crank power from the handle to the rotor with a higher level of efficiency. By adding high quality collars to the mainshaft, rotational noise has been reduced significantly.
AIRDRIVE SHAFT creates the feel of smooth, quiet rotation and provides anglers with enhanced torque and power.
OTHER TECHNOLOGY
MAGSEALED BALLBEARING
Daiwa's ultimate technology - Magsealed Ball Bearing prevents water and dust intrusion inside the ball bearing which greatly reduces reel corrosion and noise. Applied to the spool shaft surrounding, a place where salt and dust intrusion is most likely to happen and maintenance is difficult. This will improve the long-term durability and the smoothness.
MAGSEALED
Daiwa's unique waterproof structure shuts out the intrusion of seawater and dust by creating a magnetic oil wall and maintains a light and smooth initial rotation performance for a long period of time. The pinion gear is equipped with a MAGSEALED ball bearing that applies this technology to the ball bearing itself, which is the key to rotational performance. The waterproofness, durability, and rotation performance are further improved assuming use in salt water.
ATD
This is a new generation of drag adjustment system that constantly adjusts tension according to the pull of the drag. it maintains smoothness and trolling abilities among reels, hence allowing anglers to concentrate on the fishing, not on setting the drag.
ABS LONGCAST
Compared to conventional spools, the LC-ABS has been shown to increase the average flight distance by approx. 5% due to its reduced weight and modified shape.
OTHER FEATURES
MANUAL RETURN
Aiming to completely prevent bale return during casting and improve durability, we adopted a manual return mechanism that does not return the bail when the handle is rotated.
LONG CASTBREAKER
By applying a brake to the rotation of the rotor when the bail is opened, a mechanism that prevents unexpected bail return caused by the steering wheel moving due to the shock during casting.
Low winding reference line
The spool comes with a convenient reference line for lower winding.
*The amount of thread to be wound from the bottom winding reference line is 1/3 or 2/3 of the maximum amount of thread to be wound.
*If you do not have enough thread, wind the thread down to the standard line.
Stopperless body
By removing the stopper, the body structure has been simplified. The decision to remove the stopper, which is the entry path for water and foreign matter, not only improves the waterproof performance but also minimizes the misfortune of suddenly encountering trouble in the harsh environment required for SALTIGA4000/5000/6000 or when interacting with large objects. limit.
Handle
65mm is adopted for 4000/5000 sizes, which are mainly used for light shore casting games and offshore games.
70mm is adopted for the 6000 size where the big game target is in sight.
Aluminum Round Knob
Aluminum round knob S size = Φ39mm (compatible with S size knob) is used for 4000 size, which is mainly used for light shore casting games and offshore games.
Aluminum round knob L size = Φ42mm (compatible with S size knob) is used for the 5000 size, which is larger and heavier than when using the 4000 size lure, and the 6000 size, where big game targets are in sight.
