Culture of quality, passion for innovation

For over 60 years we have continued to innovate and revolutionize the world of sport fishing. Thanks to research in the field of composite materials, design and construction techniques, we have patented a long series of exclusive technologies that have allowed us to create products with unparalleled reliability and performance on the market.

Reel Technologies

MAGSEALED

A special magnetized oil membrane seals the pinion outlet from the body, preventing water from entering the body. The technology, used by NASA in the fuel pipelines on spacecraft, is Daiwa's exclusive in the sector. It is intuitive that the absence of water and dust inside the body preserves the mechanisms from the risk of corrosion, extending the life of the reel. On the most advanced reels, the system is also applied to the benefit of the line guide and the control wheel, other weak points to be protected. Both applications affect the smoothness of rotation, reducing friction and increasing the pleasure of fishing.

MAGSEALED BEARINGS

The magnetized oil present inside the bearings has the dual purpose of protecting the bearing itself from the ingress of water or dirt particles and promoting smooth rotation. The new bearings Magsealed Bearings they are applied to the sides of the body to serve the crank. This point is notoriously one of the most stressed parts of the reel, but with these new bearings the life of Daiwa reels will be considerably longer.

The new materials Zaion and Zaion V have sanctioned a real revolution in the construction of spinning reels: thanks to the innovations made by Daiwa in carbon processing techniques, these materials allow to obtain reels that are both light and super-resistant.

ZAION V

The new super composite material developed by Daiwa to further improve the performance of Light & Tough reels: it is as light as its "big brother" Zaion and much stiffer and more resistant to stress than DS5 and DS4 materials. The mechanical properties of the Zaion V allow to create bodies and rotors of lighter weight than the DS5 and DS4 materials: the internal mechanics can therefore work better, guarantee greater fluidity and greater resistance to fatigue, resulting in lighter and more performing reels. . But that is not all! Zaion V is a composite based on carbon fibers therefore totally insensitive to corrosion, even when used in salt water.

ZAION

The progenitor of these construction technologies, developed by Daiwa to obtain structures with performances similar to those of metals, at a lower cost because they do not require anti-corrosion treatments. The characteristics of this material are simply stunning: for the same volume it weighs 50% of aluminum and its structural rigidity approaches that of magnesium.

TOUGH DIGIGEAR

Gears are the real beating heart of a reel: the transfer of power and the performance of the recovery action depend on them.
For this reason Daiwa has invested great energy in the design and development of new gears that are even more effective, efficient and long lasting: the Tough Digigear.
Developed starting from the famous Daiwa Digigear, they equip all the best reels of the latest generation: increased in size and improved in materials, they guarantee superior mechanical performance, greater reliability and durability.

MONOCOQUE BODY

Appearing for the first time in 2016, this exclusive Daiwa technology immediately revolutionized the way reel construction was conceived.
Unlike a body assembled with multiple components, the Monocoque Body is made up of a single piece of machined material: this feature gives the reel unparalleled structural rigidity and greater resistance to stress.
The absence of fastening elements also allows for a larger control wheel to be housed, improving rotation and power transmission. The Monocoque Body also contributes to improving the reliability of the reel, as it better preserves the internal mechanics from the penetration of salt, dirt and other potentially harmful elements.
The reels with a body built with this technology are therefore lighter, stiffer, stronger and more performing.
The aesthetics also benefit, allowing a design with cleaner and more captivating lines.

AUTOMATIC DRAG
SYSTEM

Automatic progressive clutch. With the ATD the brake on the spool reacts softly to the initial stress, then progressively settles on the set "brake".

AIR BAIL

Equipped with the best Daiwa reels, the exclusive Air Bail bow is not just a distinctive style element.
Its particular tubular structure makes it lighter and more resistant than a traditional bow, while the special conical design of the fitting gently guides the line towards the roller even in the absence of tension.

Rod Technologies

X45

Along the blank of any rod in action, the stresses of compression and traction coexist, which normal carbon fibers can cope with very well. When the torsion occurs, the carbon tubular can go into crisis. Twisting causes: fractures, inaccuracy in casting, reduction in distance due to misalignment of the rings, loss of power due to the disordered transmission of force along the blank. With the X45 technology the fibers that wrap the blank are arranged diagonally and bi-directionally, and force it to work correctly.

3DX 3D CROSS

3D Cross Wrapping is a particular coating of carbon fibers arranged in a honeycomb. The three different directions of the fibers allow an optimal distribution of forces by increasing the power and resistance of the blank.

ANTI STICK JOINT

After a wet or rainy day, it is no fun to take the open barrel home because the joints are blocked! Daiwa solves the problem on its best telescopic handlers with a series of grooves that avoid the formation of a vacuum.

V-JOINT

The secret of the perfection of the curve of Daiwa rods is hidden between the layers of carbon that make up the structure. Near the joints, the warp of the fibers changes direction, assuming an inclination that allows them to disperse the efforts along the shaft. This configuration ensures that the joint is as flexible as the rest of the rod, with advantages in terms of resistance and reduction of oscillations during the casting phase.

AIR GUIDE SYSTEM

A revolutionary construction concept led to the creation of the first carbon frame rings. Not just any carbon, but a sophisticated multilayer with four-way weaving, very strong and very light at the same time. With the same diameter, a Daiwa AGS ring weighs 42% less than a Titanium one and is 3 times stiffer, with unimaginable advantages on the balance of the rod, its sensitivity and, last but not least, its look.

SVF

Carbon fabric with high layering density that allows you to fine-tune the response. Thanks to the reduced presence of resin, the SVF fibers work together ensuring top performance. In top-of-the-range products, the combination with the special resin.
