22 SALTIGA

In 2021, DAIWA launched a design concept called "HYPER DRIVE DESIGN" as the future standard for dual-axis reels.
This is to pursue "strong", "light" and "smooth", and aim for long-lasting initial performance.
This technology is adopted for 21 SALTIGA IC in SALTIGA, the highest peak item in DAIWA.
And in 2022, 22SALTIGA 15 / 15-SJ, which will be used in tougher situations, will be refined with "HYPERDRIVE DESIGN" and will debut with various technologies.
22SALTIGA 15 / 15-SJ aimed to raise the standard of all basic performance and make jigging easier and more comfortable.
The moment you turn the handle, jerk, and the moment the fish hangs, you should be able to experience outstanding performance!

Power and smooth winding comfort maintain its performance forever!

Sustaining smoothness and lightness of winding

High-precision, high-rigidity support for gears and spools and body design

High durability clutch system that keeps working smoothly

Pursuit of durable technology

Daiwa has continued to pursue performance that can be used comfortably without changing the initial performance.
22 SALTIGA 15 / 15-SJ adds new technology to maintain durability!

Pursuit of operability and usability

In order to catch more fish, Kazushige Shimizu and Daiwa teamed up to pursue shape and operability in order to keep it light and crisp.
These will definitely be a strong ally for anglers!

LINEUP & SPEC

A total of 8 items that can be selected according to the angler's style have been released.
With powerful winding and operability, it supports a wide range of jigging.

The most versatile standard model for jigging using PE1.5-4. Equipped with a 75-85mm aluminum crank handle arm that is ideal for armpit styles such as one-pitch jerk and jig swimming. The 15H and 15HL have a line capacity of 400m for PE3 and a gear ratio of 7.1 (winding length 115cm), and are compatible with Do TERRA fishing and jig-flying fishing. In addition, the 15S and 15SL have a gear ratio of 6.3 (winding length 103 cm) and are equipped with a shallow pool. It is effective for jigging at a depth of 100m or less using PE1.5 400m and PE2 300m.

A special specification that has been refined to a standard model by teaming up with Kazushige Shimizu. Equipped with an 85-95mm carbon crank handle arm as standard, developed in pursuit of a tackle balance of operability and lightweight. With a line capacity of 400m for PE3 and 600m for PE2, it is ideal for fishing for amberjack, yellowtail, yellowfin, greater amberjack,  and blackthroat seaperch in the deep sea. The winding length of one rotation of the handle of the normal gear (gear ratio 6.3) is 103 cm, which is easy to use with a reel of this size. With a gear ratio of 6.3, it is possible to close the gap with fish with overwhelming hoisting power even when interacting with large fish. We also have a lineup of high gear (gear ratio 7.1). The winding length of one rotation of the handle is 115 cm. When the amount of line discharge is large in an area with deep water or in a doTerra sink, the winding amount of the spool line is reduced, so that the winding length of one rotation of the handle is reduced. This model plays an active part in slow jigging in such a situation. It is also useful in situations where you want to fly a jig and put in a long fall due to the high winding speed.
