■ What is the MONOCOQUE BODY
Monocoque structure? The body itself has rigidity as a frame, is resistant to twisting and bending, and saves space. It is used in rockets and F1 machines that require durability and space efficiency under extreme conditions. Even with a spinning reel that incorporates more than 150 parts in a small body, the effect is enormous. By eliminating the need for space to fix the screws, the size of the drive gear relative to the body dimensions has been expanded to the utmost limit. In fact, it has become possible to store a large-diameter drive gear that occupies an area of about 85% of the body. In other words, if the body is the same size as before, a huge gear can be stored, and if the gear size is the same as before, a very compact body can be realized. It is a technology that has infinite possibilities to lighten strong things, and is the core technology of "LT" LIGHT & TOUGH that Daiwa demands for spinning reels. 21 CALDIA uses a Monocoque Body made of ZAION V, a new material that achieves a high level of lightness and rigidity.

Commitment to thorough weight reduction in details such as body, spool, and handle. LT is the new standard for Daiwa compact spinning, which was created by evolving the gear that is the heart of the reel and the material of the body that surrounds it to a tougher one.
■ MAGSEALED
Anglers fishing in extreme environments requires reels to maintain their performance in any environment. However, waterproofing rotating structures is a challenge that all developers have been tackling in the past. The key issue is that the rotating structure must have a space for things to turn around. If the space is closed for waterproofing, the rotational performance will be lost. The solution to this problem is Magsealed, which is based on the idea of "blocking liquid with liquid." It is a wall of Mag-Oil that can exist semi-permanently due to magnetism and is DAIWA's only one technology that prevents seawater and dust from entering the inside of the reel. This groundbreaking technology, announced in 2010, has been mounted on line rollers and ball bearings since its announcement and is now becoming an indispensable technology for DAIWA reels and anglers. In 21 CALDIA, the body part boasts a seamless monocoque body structure and stopperless structure, which makes it highly waterproof, so it is installed in the pinion gear. A reel with a waterproof structure that is higher in total than the past series was born.

■ ATD
Follows the pull of the fish, controls the drag force, and does not give the fish the initiative. A loose drag setting is effective to take advantage of its characteristics. Although it works strongly when hooking, it can always drag against pulling fish, so even large fish can be brought to landing without unnecessarily rampaging.
■ LC-ABS (Longcast-ABS)
While keeping the idea of reducing the contact resistance of ABS II, the contact is pushed forward to achieve smoother line emission. The effect of the ring part protruding forward makes it difficult to get on the line on the ring, improving the flight distance by about 5% and trouble-free compared to the conventional ABS II. It is a next-generation ABS spool that realizes LC (LONG CAST).
■ Perfect line stopper
A new shape line stopper that supports both fine threads such as PE and thick threads such as leaders. The horizontally long setting structure saves space in the vertical direction and contributes to weight reduction of the spool.
