LT (LIGHT TOUGH)
The last version of Daiwa’s Exceler range of spinning reels debuted the LT ‘Light and Tough’ Design Concept. Now, Exceler is getting another major overhaul with the introduction of AIRDRIVE Design. Sporting the newly developed AIRDRIVE ROTOR, 23 Exceler is not only lighter than previous generations, but easier to wind the handle thanks to lower start-up inertia brought possible by AIRDRIVE Design. The new rotor and bail wire totally changes the previous design and makes the initial rotation of the handle light as a feather. A tough, dependable light tackle reel for all skill levels, 23 Exceler is sure to be as big a hit as ever.
AIRDRIVE DESIGN
The future of Daiwa Spinning Reels is AIRDRIVE DESIGN. By reducing the weight of rotor, spool & bail assembly, a lighter rotation is achieved. The effortless rotation allows the angler to feel the true joy of trouble free function.
ZAION V
A carbon resin woven with carbon fiber at high density, it is light, strong, and resistant to corrosion. A material that makes the impossible possible by surpassing magnesium in weight-to-weight ratio strength. It is used for main parts such as bodies and rotors and contributes to the realization of the antinomy of high rigidity and lightweight.
ABS-LONGCAST
Compared to conventional spools, the LC-ABS has been shown to increase the average flight distance by approx. 5% due to its reduced weight and modified shape.
Tough Digigear
The Trinity element (design concept, processing technology, gear material) is indispensable for the drive gear, which is the most important part of the TOUGH DIGIGEAR. Salamandura LT is a further evolution of DigiGear II, adopting “Tough DigiGear” that keeps smooth rotation for a longer time. A design concept that carefully takes into account the effects on meshing caused by the application of unexpected force. Achieves the ideal gear finished with high strength. It realizes endless noiseless rotation and accurately responds to the delicate feeling of the angler’s fingertips.
ATD [Automatic Drag System]
Next-generation drag that starts smoothly and follows the pull of fish and continues to work smoothly. Another feature of ATD for large spinning is that the power change of the drag setting value is small. With conventional drag, when a long-time fight that pulls out the drag or such a fight is repeated, the drag force naturally decreases. Daiwa pursued that part and developed a drag with little decrease in drag force. This makes it possible to concentrate on fighting when a fish hits, and even in situations where good-sized fish that use drag continuously hit, it is possible to continue using it without resetting the drag value. “The drag adjustment during fighting is reduced, and you can catch fish faster while preventing line breaks.”
