Next Generation Biaxial Baitcasting Reel Technology HYPERDRIVE Design
■ HYPERDRIVE DIGIGEAR
A newly designed gear system for baitcasting (biaxial) reels that pursues continuous strong and smooth rotation. DAIWA’s unique technology that achieves an increase in meshing ratio without reducing the gear tooth module (size), which is directly linked to durability, and realizes long-lasting initial smoothness.
A drive support system that achieves continuous smoothness and winding strength and lightness. By supporting both ends of the pinion gear with high precision with two ball bearings, the input from the handle is not attenuated, and it is possible to wind up powerfully and lightly even when a load is applied.
A housing system that firmly supports the internal structure with high rigidity and high precision, and produces precise winding comfort and power. It is a necessary condition to use a metal material for the frame, which is essential, and by combining it with a side plate or set plate, it is possible to continue to demonstrate the basic performance for a longer period of time. In this series, aluminum alloy is used for the frame, gear side plate, and dial side set plate. It is a full metal housing specification that achieves robustness and unrivaled strength.
A clutch system that not only has a sharp on/off trigger that keeps sliding thousands and tens of thousands of times, but also has extremely few troubles even in seawater with high salinity. It boasts a state-of-the-art insulation structure that has already achieved a 99% reduction in the number of sticking repairs in harsh salt scenes in our company.
TWS greatly reduces the resistance at the line guide near the spool where the spool rotation speed is the highest, ensuring comfortable fishing with less backlash. Casting and controllability are improved, so as fast falling and reducing backlash, TWS improves all basic performance of bait reels.
Daiwa’s unique waterproof structure shuts out the intrusion of seawater and dust by creating a magnetic oil wall and maintains a light and smooth initial rotation performance for a long period of time. The pinion gear is equipped with a MAGSEALED ball bearing that applies this technology to the ball bearing itself, which is the key to rotational performance. The waterproofness, durability, and rotation performance are further improved assuming use in salt water.
This is a new generation of drag adjustment system that constantly adjusts tension according to the pull of the drag. it maintains smoothness and trolling abilities among reels, hence allowing anglers to concentrate on the fishing, not on setting the drag.
■ MAG Z-BOOST
Magforce Z BOOST braking system was specifically designed to give midweight lures from 10-30gm additional cast distance.
Daiwa’s Hyper Long Cast super-tuned cast control system has been designed for optimum casting performance with the spool rotor modified to minimise rotor braking to maximise spool rotation and casting distance of heavier lures and baits.
A special aluminum alloy called G1 Duralumin is twice as strong as magnesium and 1.3 times as strong as extra super Duralumin. This material that maintains its ultra-lightweight and excellent rigidity is the highest grade of lightweight alloys that are also used in aircraft structural materials and precision equipment. If the same strength is maintained, an overwhelmingly lightweight feeling can be achieved, so it is possible to maintain sufficient strength simply by thinning the spool winding surface without blanking. The high rotational response brought about by the lightness and the accurate and unrivaled rotation due to the high rigidity are unrivaled.
The spool is only supported by Ball Bearing. Being shaftless eliminates extra resistance and provides ideal spool rotation. In other words, it is the key to a high-power engine that prioritizes casting performance. The spool mechanism, which was once called the speed shaft, was renamed to “Zero Shaft” in 2021.
First, by adjusting the “zero adjuster” and setting the “spool backlash zero”, the evolution of the magnet brake has made it possible to control all lures with only the mag dial. “Zero adjuster” is a mechanism to enjoy fishing comfortably without malfunction during fishing by adjusting to “zero setting” before starting fishing.
